Western Suburbs - Junior Club of the Year 2011
For the second time in three years Western Suburbs have been named "Capital Football Junior Club of the Year".
The award was presented to a beaming Pete Gillespie, chairman of the Junior Club, at the Capital Football Junior Prizegiving 2011 at Hutt City Council Hall.
The home for the trophy is decided on the overall performance of club teams competing in Capital Football's Promo, Junior Premier League and Super Six competitions.
Western Suburbs are champions in the 10th Promo, 12th JPL and 13th JPL and 13th Promo runners-up and reached the Super Six finals in 12th and 13th grade competitions. These achievements combined to win the trophy ahead of close rivals Karori and Tawa.
Teams from 10th, 12th and 13th grades were present at the ceremony to collect their individual medals and trophies and to accompany Pete onto the stage to collect the coveted trophy from Jim Murphy, Chairman of Capital Football.
The well deserved award makes all the hard work of the players, coaches and parents of the whole club during the season worthwhile. With the continued development of our junior players with high quality coaching and Academy programmes starting from the age of 4, the club can look forward to many more Club of the Year awards in coming years.
Congratulations to all players at Western Suburbs Junior Soccer Club.
