Western Suburbs Football Club

At Western Suburbs Football Club our primary objective is to promote, develop and foster the game of football.

We aim to achieve this by maximizing participation and providing pathways for our members to achieve to their maximum potential as players, coaches, referees and administrators.

To support a lifetime of involvement in football for both male and female members, the club provides for all ages.

Based in the Porirua suburb of Whitby the club has close ties with the local community. Over 150 players represent Western Suburbs in the Central League, Capital Football Mens and Womens Senior and Masters grades.

Recent additions to the team lists include our Under 17s, Under 19s and Under 21s which give our juniors a stepping stone to Senior football with the club.

We are particularly proud of our Juniors at Western Suburbs and the development pathway offered to players, coaches and referees.

Each Sunday in the football season our thriving Mighty Midgets programme at Endeavour Park provides football oriented fun and development to nearly 250 boys and girls aged between 4 and 6 year olds.

Nearly 500 footballers represent the club in more than 30 teams competing in Capital Football competitions from 7th to 14th grade. Our Academy programmes offer additional coaching to develop our promising young stars.

The structure has proved successful in recent times with many Western Suburbs teams winning their respective grades and tournaments over several seasons.

As a result of the coaching and players hard work, many have been selected for Capital Football Regional and Federation Talents Centres and NZ Football National Talent Centres - a first step to U17 World Cups.

The club is especially proud to be named Capital Football “Junior Club of the Year” in 2011 for the second time in three years.
